We have been working for about a month getting our trailer ready to go. It has been a little weird for me thinking this will be my home. We have been doing our best to make this place home with some homey touches. The paint in the main area was dark and sloppy, so we painted. The paint we chose is a creamy color. It brightened the main area a lot! And it helped make it more our own.
Caleb put a shelf over the dining area! There is usually cabinets all the way across over the dining area and couch, but over the dining was empty (and we can use all the storage we can get). We will have to take the stuff off the shelf when we travel but its worth it!
We hung a sign, a dry erase calendar (which is something I use ALL the time) and a cork board for pictures of friends and family! We have really enjoyed adding some special things! I want to find some pillow covers for the couch pillows.
Caleb made a bench for our dining area. It has storage in it. And I found cushions on Amazon for some color. I love how it turned out!
Eventually he will make a table but right now we just have a small folding table.
Caleb put up a rail on the girls beds (and they both love to help him)! The girls got to pick their own bedding. We decided real bedding since we don't know how long we will be living in the trailer. And I hung black out curtains in the girls room.
I am so thankful we were able to get a bunk house, so the girls can have their own room!
Last night was the first night we stayed in the trailer. I was a little nervous. . . ok a lot nervous, but we all slept well. The girls had a busy day and it only took them about 10 mins to fall asleep. We were all warm enough, and there were no catastrophes.
We have more moving in and organizing to do today, but we are excited to finally be sleeping in it! This is our home!
I can't wait to watch your journey!
I love how homey you are making this new house! Praying that all your organizing makes this adventure comfortable. Love the verse on the chalk board. Very wise and humble verse to keep in our hearts through out the day. And as always - beautiful girls - they are like their Momma!
